This project started with a rigorous left-brain research phase. For each month, I chose a group of holidays to represent visually, and used my right brain to make sketches for dozens of them. After selecting one holiday per month, I used my sketches as a starting point to create typography by hand, which I then photographed. I combined those photos with a computer-based grid system for the calendar – a group of posters that works together as a cohesive set.
